Work Bond

PURPOSE

To encourage volunteer participation from our community and to be equitable to all families, the league has reinstated the Work Bond Program.
There is a great deal of work that happens "on and off the field" to have our league operate successfully. As a volunteer organization, RYS relies on its member families to serve the needs of all its players. The program registration fee does not cover all the costs to run the program. Each player's family will be required to volunteer their time.
Due to a shortage of volunteers, RYS board has decided to reinstate the work bond program. Many other sports clubs across the State of New Jersey have a work bond program, and we have tried to avoid it but our organization is only as good as its volunteers. We are finding it more difficult every year to get people to volunteer their time with essential functions such as field cleanup, maintenance, and other special events. We need the help from the league's parents to continue with the success of our programs.

Each family will be required to write a mandatory Work Bond check payable to: Ridge Youth Sports Inc.
The amount of the Work Bond is $100 per family
Your check must be received before uniforms are distributed
Checks are collected but not deposited until the end of the season
Work bonds CANNOT be carried over to the following season

Volunteer opportunities are plentiful but limited. Eligible activities for Work Bond reimbursements are:

Spring Field Prep (2 hours)
Registration Signs Setup/Clean Up (2 hours)
Team Roles
- Rec/Travel Coaching (4 coaches max per team)
- Team coordinator (1 per team)
- Team score keeper (1 per team for the entire season)
- Team field prepper (1 per team for the entire season)
Snack Stand
- 2 hour shifts (Book Here)
Softball Day
- Certain roles will be eligible for work bond

Families that have completed eligible activities may request for the collected check to be destroyed.
All work bond completion forms must be submitted by the following deadline date:
- June 30th for the Spring Season
- November 30th for the Fall Season
Work Bond checks will be deposited after the deadline date and will not be refunded.
