Coaches Notes

Field Preparation

• Please get to the field early to set up

• 1B/3B Lines will be done by the township during the week and not available on weekends (for rec games, don't worry too much about the lines)

• Put in the bases. There are 2 pieces (inset with bubble on top and rubber base). Use the safety base for 1B. Please keep track of those base plugs.

• Nail in pitching rubber (Pigtails-not need, Minors-32 ft, Majors-35 ft, Seniors-40ft). Tape measure in shed box. Measurement is from the apex (tip of the triangle part of the home plate) to the front-edge of the pitching rubber.

Field Clean Up

• Put away the base and pitching rubber. Remember, there are two pieces to the bases.

• Reinsert the base plugs

• Lock the shed box

• All trash and recyclables should be placed in the appropriate containers.

Other Notes

• All of the items above will be in the gray rubber shed (approximately 5' high).  Please do not openly distribute the conbination and should only be given to assistant coaches on a "need-to-know" basis.

• Each shed box has an AED and first-aid kit. Please do not put heavy items on top of the AED/First-Aid bag.

• Lights will come on automatically for night games.  They will also shut automatically at 10 PM SHARP; so the 1:45 Minute time limit is crucial to be discussed with your opponent.

Score Keeping

• Please use Game Changer. All Head Coaches should have an account now.

• Formal submission protocol is TBD.

Schedule Changes & Rainouts

• Typically we will notify you in case of field closures

• Make a determination at least 2 hours before the start of the game about game cancellation with opponent

• Game cancellation for Ridge fields please email umpire contact:

  • Inform your umpire contact (see above emails) about securing an umpire

  • Update your game on TeamSnap

Umpire

• All divisions (besides Pigtails) will be assigned 1 umpire per game

• DO NOT ARGUE WITH UMPIRES

• HOME TEAM pays at the plate: $70 cash

• HOME TEAM provides 2 game balls

• Please keep track of your umpire payments for the season.  RYSI will reimburse you for your umpire fees.
